Day 17

Lovell, WY to Sheridan, WY (Big Horn Pass)

  • Miles: 100 mi

  • Elevation Gain: 7,762 ft

  • Big Horn Pass Peak: 9,430 ft

Today’s Ride
Wow — what a day. Big Horn Pass has been circled on our itinerary for a long time, and today we climbed it: 20 miles straight up with just under 6,000 feet of climbing. The ride was tough, steady, and relentless, but also breathtaking. Reaching the 9,430 ft peak of Big Horn Pass was a huge accomplishment — one I’ll never forget.

The past few days have been hazy due to nearby wildfires, and we really felt it again today. The views were still spectacular, but the haze was ever-present in the background. We’re all hoping the skies clear soon so we can fully take in the beauty around us and get some fresh air!

Big Horn Pass lived up to its reputation: long, steep, and unforgettable. It was one of those days that tested every ounce of endurance but also left me proud and humbled. Tomorrow brings another big ride, but for now, I’m celebrating this summit with gratitude for strong legs, supportive guides, and this amazing group of riders.
