Day 39

Meadville, PA → Bradford, PA

  • 100 mi

  • 5,450 ft

This morning’s ride began with a gift: the most beautiful sunrise, morning mist, and crisp fall air—exactly why this journey is called Following the Sunrise. 🌅

The scenery all day was nothing short of stunning: rolling hills, winding rivers, shimmering lakes, and trees showing the first hints of autumn color. We passed Amish carriages along the way, and the endless rollers kept us working hard.

We also hit a big milestone today—5,000 km (3,107 miles)! Our metric friends made sure we celebrated properly. 🥳

Dinner tonight was at Togi’s Family Restaurant, which was just what we needed after a long day. Spirits are high, knowing that only 101 miles separate us from our last rest day. The cumulative fatigue and strain on our bodies is definitely setting in, but the pride of what we’ve accomplished—and the determination to keep pushing—keeps us going.

Today also included a slight detour that cut the route a bit short. So of course, many of us (myself included) did a few extra laps around the parking lot to make sure we could officially call it a century ride. Because, let’s be honest—too many of us love checking off a goal. ✔️🚴‍♀️
