Day 38

What a beautiful fall day! 🚴🍂 Today’s ride was on the shorter side, which meant we got a bit of a slower start. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee and sneak in a short walk through Punderson State Park before rolling out—such a treat.

The miles ticked by easily, with gorgeous scenery as we pedaled through Amish country. Horses and buggies shared the road with us, and I count it as a big win that there wasn’t much “evidence” left on the roads to dodge. 🙌 Of course, we had to stop for the obligatory photo at the “Welcome to Pennsylvania” sign—our 11th state! 🎉

We arrived at the hotel by 2:00 pm, which meant an impromptu curbside picnic of PB&J sandwiches, recovery drinks, and a cooler of beer while swapping stories under the crisp autumn sun. Honestly, it was perfect. Once the rooms were ready, I turned on the Ryder Cup, stretched out, and snuck in a nap—exactly what a Saturday should look like. 💤

Tomorrow and Monday both bring back-to-back century rides, but with a rest day waiting in Corning, NY on Tuesday, it feels manageable. Hard to believe, but we only have eight days of riding left. The time has flown by—back in those first few days, I remember thinking, “If I can just make it to Day 10…” Now here I am, nearly at the finish line of this incredible adventure.

This journey has pushed me, tested my limits, and given me so much joy in return. It’s pretty amazing to work this hard, keep showing up, and see what you can accomplish.
