Day 37

Oberlin, OH to Newbury, OH

  • Miles: 80 mi

  • Elevation Gain: 3,625 ft

Today was one of those perfect riding days 🚴‍♀️ — low 70’s, sunshine, a light breeze, cotton-ball clouds in the sky, and miles of cornfields, rolling hills, and pumpkin patches 🎃. We rode through the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park 🌳 and stopped at a covered bridge for some quick photos. Lunch in the adorable town of Hudson 🥪 gave the day an extra relaxed vibe.

We rolled into Punderson State Park this afternoon, where we’re staying at the historic (and supposedly haunted 👻) Punderson Manor. Our crew has cabins nearby, and it’s absolutely gorgeous here.

And — a big milestone — we officially hit 3,000 miles today 🎉! To mark the occasion, our group posed for a picture making “MMM” (the Roman numeral for 3,000)… huge thanks to Dave for that brilliant idea.

With “only” 80 miles, today felt lighter than most. We had time to stop for pictures, soak up the sunshine, and just enjoy riding together. Spirits are good — even with the fatigue that’s starting to creep in — and tonight feels like a celebration. 💛
