Condon, OR to Hermiston, OR
Miles: 90 mi
Elevation Gain: 4,087 ft
Today’s Ride
All of yesterday’s climbing seemed to pay off — at least a little! The first 10 miles today were downhill, which gave us a boost of encouragement heading into another long and hot ride. Most of the climbing was finished before lunch, which felt like a gift since we didn’t have to tackle big hills during the heat of the day.
The morning took us through beautiful rolling hills and then into what seemed like the endless wheat fields of Oregon. At one point, one of our guides encountered a rattlesnake while taking a quick pit stop — so let’s just say we all became a little more cautious during bathroom breaks after that!
Lunch today was at a Sinclair gas station, which felt oddly perfect and great chance for a photo!
