Days 9 and 10

Day 9 – Kooskia, ID to Lolo Hot Springs, MT

  • Miles: 115 mi

  • Elevation Gain: 6,451 ft

Yesterday’s Ride
Yesterday was a long, hard, and beautiful day. We rode alongside the Lochsa River, surrounded by pine trees. The steady sound of rushing water and the cool shade made the miles a little easier.

The real test came late in the day: a climb that started around mile 100. By mile 107, we reached the top of Lolo Pass, and just like that, we crossed into Montana! From there it was a downhill glide into Lolo Hot Springs — no cell service, limited internet, but plenty of satisfaction knowing we’d conquered one of the biggest days yet.

Highlights

  • 🌲 Riding for miles through pine forests along the Lochsa River

  • 🚴 The epic late-day climb to Lolo Pass

  • 🌄 Crossing into Montana, our 4th state of the trip

  • 💛 A challenging but unforgettable day

115 miles, 6,451 feet of climbing, and a finish line in the mountains — this day tested everything, but it also reminded me why I signed up for this adventure. Exhausted and grateful.

Day 10 – Lolo Hot Springs, MT to Missoula, MT

  • Miles: 37 mi | 60 km

  • Elevation Gain: 587 ft | 179 m

Today’s Ride
After yesterday’s epic ride, today’s 37 miles felt like a cakewalk. We cruised into Missoula and everyone was more than ready for our first rest day. Spirits are high, and the timing couldn’t be better.

Family Celebrations
Today is a big day for my family:

  • 💕 My parents celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary. They have been my biggest lifelong fans — always there to cheer, support, and celebrate through every up and down. Their enthusiasm for this trip has been amazing, and I know many of you are following along because my dad personally called to tell you about it! Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad — love you!

  • 💍 My cousin Caleb is marrying his beautiful bride Emma. I wish I could be there to celebrate, but I’m sending all my love and joy to them today.

  • 🎂 And happy 11th birthday to Sadie! Love you!

Reaching Missoula feels like a huge milestone. Tomorrow, we rest. Steve will be joining me here, and I cannot wait to see him. Thank you all for continuing to follow along and send love — your support fuels me more than you know. 😘

My Mom and Dad (Bruce and Jan)💕💕💕💕💕
